Transfer rumours: QPR “very close” to signing Yann M’Vila

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed the club is “very close” to completing the signing of Rennes’ midfield enforcer Yann M’Vila.

The highly-rated 22-year-old, who was linked to some of Europe’s biggest clubs last summer, is poised to arrive at Loftus Road in a deal worth around £8million.

M’Vila is currently banned from playing for the France national team until June 2014 following an unauthorised night out while on under-21 duty in November.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Loic Remy is expected to complete his £8million move from Marseille to the Rs before the weekend.

In other transfer news, AC Milan are reportedly interested in Newcastle duo Tim Krul and Davide Santon.

Swansea City striker Danny Graham would prefer a January transfer to Sunderland, rather than QPR, Norwich or Reading.

Chelsea and Tottenham are both weighing up moves for Brazilian playmaker Willian – although his current club want £20million for the 24-year-old.

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is reportedly open to the idea of moving to the Premier League. Liverpool are believed to be interested in the Spaniard.

After missing out on Remy, Newcastle continue to scan the European market for a Demba Ba replacement. Saint-Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the latest name linked with the Magpies.

Fulham remain keen on Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland, but the Cottagers may turn their attentions to Roma’s number one Maarten Stekelenburg.

And Andrea Pirlo has urged Frank Lampard to join Juventus if Chelsea, as expected, release the England international at the end of the season.
