Transfer rumours: Manchester United agree fee for Lucas Moura

Manchester United will pay £26milion for Brazil winger Lucas Moura after agreeing a deal with the youngster’s current club Sao Paulo, according to reports.

The 19-year-old, who came on as a substitute against Great Britain in last Friday’s Olympic warm-up match in Middlesbrough, is regarded as one of Brazil’s most promising talents.

The Daily Mirror report that United will now begin contract negotiations with the player and his representatives before the transfer is finalised.

The Red Devils are also linked to Fulham’s Moussa Dembélé again this morning. The Fulham forward enjoyed a fine season at Craven Cottage last term, earning himself a host of admirers, including United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Last season’s Premier League runners-up are also still firmly in the hunt for Arsenal’s wantaway captain Robin van Persie, who wants £10million per year at his new club – most likely to be United, Manchester City or Juventus.

And in this summer’s other big transfer saga, it looks increasingly likely that Luka Modrić will leave White Hart Lane this summer. The Tottenham midfielder, who is desperate to force a move to Real Madrid, risks a series of fines after refusing to travel to the US for the club’s pre-season tour.

Spurs boss André Villas-Boas is reportedly livid with the 26-year-old – as is the club’s chairman Daniel Levy – but the north London outfit are expected to bid for Porto’s João Moutinho if Modrić gets his own way.

Tottenham are also poised to make an offer for Roma striker Marco Borriello, the 30-year-old Italian striker who previously played for AC Milan.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have set their sights on Borriello’s Roma team-mate Daniele De Rossi. The Italy international would, however, command a transfer fee of over £20million – not to mention huge wages on top of that.

It appears that Aston Villa have missed out on the services of Netherlands international Ron Vlaar, who has pulled out of a £3.2million move from Feyenoord after accusing the Premier League side of ‘messing’ him about.

Fulham want to take Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku to Craven Cottage on a season-long loan deal.

Liverpool have insisted that defender Martin Skrtel is not for sale.

And Southampton are keen to sign Blackburn defender Scott Dan.
