Transfer rumours: AC Milan set to make Carlos Tévez offer

Manchester City striker Carlos Tévez is wanted by AC Milan, who will make a formal offer for the Argentina international once Zlatan Ibrahimović's move to Paris Saint-Germain is completed.

Tévez, 28, recently stated that he is happy to remain at the Etihad Stadium, but is still expected to welcome a move to the San Siro.

Milan sold their talismanic central defender Thiago Silva to PSG on Saturday for around £30million, and star striker Ibrahimovic is set to follow in the next few days as the Rossoneri attempt to cut their sizeable wage bill.

However the Italian giants will attempt to bring in Tévez, who missed five months of last season after a fall-out with manager Roberto Mancini, as a replacement for the mercurial Swede.

When that happens, City are then expected to finally make a bid for Arsenal's wantaway captain Robin van Persie.

As things stand though, the Netherlands international will be on the Gunners' pre-season tour of Asia, where Van Persie could line up against City in Beijing later this month.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are likely to miss out on highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Oscar, who is expected to instead join European champions Chelsea.

Spurs had hoped to bring in the 20-year-old as a replacement for Croatia international Luka Modric, whose move to Real Madrid is reportedly imminent, but it seems the Internacional man prefers a move to Stamford Bridge.

And Manchester United are keen to sign Ajax's talented midfielder Christian Eriksson, the Danish playmaker also linked with a move to Barcelona, who are also interested in Arsenal's French defender Laurent Koscielny.
